Beach Contest rules

General Contest Rules for Long Island Radio Broadcasting

1. All employees, volunteers and sponsors of Long Island Radio Broadcasting, including immediate family members and household members; as well as employees of other Long Island radio stations are ineligible to win prizes from Long Island Radio Broadcasting.

2. Winners must be residents of Suffolk or Nassau County.

3. All prize winners must be 18 years of age or older, unless otherwise specified by the specific contest.

4. Only one winner or qualifier per family/household is allowed per contest.

5. All grand prizes will be given away by Long Island Radio Broadcasting. Odds of winning will depend on the number of qualified entries.

6. Long Island Radio Broadcasting may substitute another prize of equal value, in the event of non-availability of an announced prize.

7. In the case of a dispute over telephone lines, the decision of Long Island Radio Broadcasting is final.

8. In the event that two telephone lines are tied together during a phone contest, the entire phone call will be disqualified and another phone call will be taken. Long Island Radio Broadcasting cannot award duplicate prizes to both parties in a “tied together” situation. An example of a “tied together” call may be two telephone calls originating from the same location or residence or a party line.

9. Contest winners are responsible for any and all applicable taxes and fees associated with their awarded prize.

10. After winning a prize valued under $500, prize winners are ineligible from winning any additional prizes from any Long Island Radio Broadcasting station (WBAZ, WBEA and WEHM) for 30 days.

11. After winning a prize valued under $1,000 prize winners are ineligible from winning any additional prizes from any Long Island Radio Broadcasting station (WBAZ, WBEA and WEHM) for 60 days.

12. After winning a prize valued over $1,000 prize winners are ineligible from winning any additional prizes from Long Island Radio Broadcasting station (WBAZ, WBEA and WEHM) for 90 days; plus all other household members are likewise ineligible for 30 days.

13. Long Island Radio Broadcasting is not responsible for defective prizes.

14. Contest winners have 30 days to claim their prize at Long Island Radio Broadcasting Studios – 249 Montauk Highway in Amagansett or 1735-B North Ocean Avenue in Medford, otherwise they forfeit their prize. Long Island Radio Broadcasting is at liberty to give away any unclaimed prize at the end of the thirty day grace period.

15. Prizes can be picked up in Amagansett (Monday – Friday from 9am to 5:30pm) or Medford (Fridays only, 11am to 2pm) excluding company celebrated federal holidays.

16. No Prizes will be mailed.

17. Photo ID is required when claiming prizes

18. The name that appears on the Contest Form is the name that MUST appear on the photo ID.

19. In certain “unique situations” a designated representative will be allowed to accept a prize for the winner. Written authorization from the winner including representative’s name, ID, and a photocopy of the winner’s drivers license is required. Long Island Radio will qualify what designates a “unique situation.”

20. Prizes are non-transferable.

21. Prizes are awarded “as is” and cannot be traded or redeemed for cash.

22. Long Island Radio Broadcasting reserves the right to use a winner’s voice, name and/or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation.

23. Long Island Radio Broadcasting reserves the right to disqualify an individual from any contest, at any time, for any reason.

24. Long Island Radio Broadcasting reserves the right to change a promotion at any time.

25. Long Island Radio Broadcasting reserves the right to change a contest or its rules at any time.

26. Long Island Radio Broadcasting, its agencies, affiliates, sponsors, or representatives absolve themselves of any liability, financial or otherwise, resulting from any on or off-air contests staged by our stations.

27. All contest entries become the property of Long Island Radio Broadcasting. Furthermore, Long Island Radio Broadcasting may withhold any contest materials crucial to the completion of the contest.

28. Contest rules are available for view at Long Island Radio Broadcasting Studios – 249 Montauk Highway in Amagansett, Monday – Friday from 9am to 5:30 pm excluding company celebrated federal holidays.
